Act of cyber malice - October 2023
What happened?
On Wednesday 4 October 2023 Private Sport Shop was victim of an act of cyber malice. The attack consisted of testing a multitude of passwords for a given identifier in order to connect to your account.
What personal data may have been compromised?
Your personal data (surname, first name, e-mail address, delivery address and telephone number) may have been accessed. No bank details are at risk as Private Sport Shop never stores them.
What actions have been taken?
Private Sport Shop took countermeasures on the website and in the application code on Wednesday, October 4. Meanwhile, we reset the passwords of customers potentially affected by the attack and informed them by email. We take the security of your information very seriously and will continue to take all necessary measures to protect you against any potential breach of your information.
What should I do as a member/customer?
The attack has been blocked, but as a precaution we recommend that you change your password if you are using the same password on another website or mobile application. This new password must be strong and unique.
How can I change my password?
Click on "Forgot your password?" on your account login page. You will receive an e-mail allowing you to modify it.
How do I create a strong, secure password?
As a reminder, your password must comply with security recommendations and include at least:
- between 12 and 32 characters
- at least one upper and one lower case letter
- at least one number
- at least one special character(ex: !?@&#*$*)
We urge you to be particularly vigilant in the face of malicious phishing e-mails.
